Dear fans:

There have been many questions, concerns and inquiries about our name change from the Human Zambonis to the IceCutters.  We want to set the record straight:

1. We did not ask permission from the Zamboni Company before choosing our name.  After we came up with the name, we really became hooked on it after seeing the logo that was created for us.
2. The Zamboni company found out about our team and our web site and contacted me.   They explained that they could not endorse our team nor could they permit us to use their trademarked name.  They have information about their trademark at their website.
3. We agreed to change our name and did so.
4. The Zamboni company reviewed our logo and determined that it was generic enough not to represent their product, so it was ok for us to continue to use the logo.
5. We closed the issue on excellent terms.  The discussions and negotiations were always conducted in a pleasant and professional manner.

I have always had the utmost respect for the company before any of this happened and that has not changed.  So, while we appreciate your concerns, please keep on singing "I want to drive the Zamboni!"
